New in-country presence with dedicated leadership, local hiring, and enterprise customer momentum signal strategic investment in the Philippines market.
Workato®, the leader in Enterprise Model Context Protocol (MCP), announced the official establishment of its Philippines subsidiary and office on April 22, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion across Southeast Asia. The move solidifies Workato’s long-term commitment to serving enterprise customers in the Philippines as they navigate AI-led business transformation, and positions the country as a strategic growth market within Workato’s broader APAC footprint. The Philippines will serve not only as a key go-to-market territory, but also a base for Workato’s global customer success, support, and business operations.
A Strategic Market at an Inflection Point
The Philippines is one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economies, with enterprises across financial services, business process outsourcing, retail, and the public sector rapidly accelerating their technology investments. As organisations face mounting pressure to unlock value from AI, Workato’s entry as a dedicated in-country entity reflects the platform’s growing traction in the market and the company’s conviction that enterprise-grade agentic orchestration will be foundational to how Philippine businesses compete in the decade ahead.
AI transformation does not start with a model, it starts with a foundation of connectivity. Workato’s platform enables enterprises to unify their data, tools, and workflows into a single governed ecosystem, ensuring that every AI initiative drives measurable, real business outcomes rather than isolated point solutions.
“The Philippines has been part of Workato’s story since our earliest days, and it’s now one of Southeast Asia’s most compelling enterprise markets. Organizations here are ambitious and digitally forward, and as AI transformation becomes a key priority, they need infrastructure that connects their entire enterprise. Workato was built for this moment.” said Vijay Tella, CEO and Co-founder, Workato.

Local Leadership to Drive Market Growth
To lead its Philippines operations, Workato has appointed Tyrone Borromeo as Managing Director, Workato Philippines. A Filipino native, Borromeo brings over 25 years of enterprise technology leadership to the role, with deep expertise spanning hybrid integration platforms, API management, and cloud solutions. He joins from Workato’s global organisation, where he most recently served as VP of Global Solutions Consulting. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at MuleSoft and Salesforce. His appointment is a signal of Workato’s commitment to putting experienced, market-native leadership on the ground — with a mandate to build Workato’s enterprise customer base, expand its partner ecosystem, and grow a high-performing local team in the Philippines.
“Philippine enterprises are at an exciting juncture. The appetite for AI-driven transformation is real, and the urgency to get it right has never been higher. Workato’s commitment here runs deep. This country is home not only to the enterprises we serve, but to the global customer success, support, and business functions that power Workato worldwide. To now build our commercial presence in the place that has long powered Workato behind the scenes — that’s a chapter I’m proud to lead,” said Tyrone Borromeo, Managing Director, Workato Philippines.
“At Philippine Airlines, we are committed to building an enterprise as agile as the world we operate in. Over the past years, our adoption has advanced considerably with integrations across HR and employee operations now executing a larger volume of transactions each month. This is an infrastructure that scales with ambition, and we look forward to continuing to push boundaries with Workato,” said Angelique C. Tinsay, Vice President of IT Operations, Philippine Airlines.
Investment, Hiring, and Market Momentum
The establishment of the Philippines entity is backed by meaningful investment in local go-to-market capacity, and Workato has already established offices in two key locations — PBCom Tower in Makati, at the heart of the Philippine enterprise and financial district, and Axis Tower in Alabang, home to one of the country’s largest concentrations of technology and operations talent. Workato’s other near-term priorities for the market include
Hiring Goals: Workato aims to grow its Philippines team by 20-30 percent by the end of 2026, spanning product support, customer success, solutions consulting, and partner management.
Partner Ecosystem: Workato will adopt a partner-led approach to growth in the Philippines, empowering its ecosystem to drive market expansion, customer acquisition and delivery. With a select network of local systems integrators, technology alliances and reseller partners, Workato will be well positioned to meet the growing market demand for enterprise modernisation and AI transformation.
Customer Events: Workato has been actively building its presence in the Philippines for the past 2 years, sponsoring key technology conferences and hosting executive forums bringing technology leaders together to explore agentic AI and business transformation. Over 500 enterprise professionals have already participated in Workato platform training and community events in the last year. Further events are planned throughout 2026.
Enterprise Customer Momentum: Workato is already working with enterprise customers in the Philippines across industries like retail and transport, with a pipeline of major digital transformation programmes underway. Jollibee Foods Corporation, Philippine Airlines and Prince Retail Group of Companies have been named Pioneer Customer Awardees, recognised for their early adoption of Workato to connect critical business systems and streamline enterprise workflows, setting a benchmark for AI-driven transformation in the Philippines.
These investments are underpinned by Workato’s Enterprise MCP platform, the infrastructure layer that enables AI agents to take real action across enterprise systems. With over 100 fully managed MCP servers and an enterprise-grade MCP Gateway, Workato gives organisations in the Philippines a secure, governed way to connect any AI agent to the data, tools, and workflows that power their business. This closes the gap between AI ambition and AI execution.
