SN Aboitiz Power (SNAP) Group’s assistant vice president and chief information officer Maria Theresa Cabigon was honored as one of Digital Pilipinas’s Spark Asia 200 Digital Leaders for her innovative contributions as a business leader to the Philippine digital transformation movement, particularly in Southeast Asia. An official awarding ceremony was held at SMX Aura in Taguig City on November 21, 2023.
The event was one of the many activities during the Digital Pilipinas Festival x Festival of Festivals, a week of tech-centered festivities organized by Digital Pilipinas, in partnership with market research firm Tangere, to celebrate technology and innovation champions in the Philippine business landscape.
Cabigon attributed the continuing success of SNAP’s digital initiatives to a united team that espouses positive change, from the management level to its team members. “Together, we embraced change and made things happen to ensure we accelerate value creation for our business and our people. We transformed the way we think and operate through data-driven, smart, and innovative solutions.”
Led by Cabigon, SNAP has made bold moves in recent years to forward its digital transformation, launching notable projects such as a workflow management system, data warehousing and management, and SNAP-specific artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning models. The company’s in-house data science upskilling program has already produced 9 citizen data scientists and expects 15 more from an upcoming batch.
Cabigon believes that business leaders and prominent industries have a responsibility to harness technology for the greater good, which is why SNAP’s efforts transcend beyond energy production as they find more avenues to help advance digital literacy and data innovation in the country. “As we embrace the challenges of the future, we remain dedicated to innovation, growth, and sustainability. We strive to inspire others to join us on this journey of transformation, working together with our ecosystem of partners to create a cleaner, more prosperous future for the Philippines.”
