Reflecting on SMDC’s journey over the last two decades, Sy shared that the company’s focus has always been on more than just providing homes. “The good life is about creating spaces where people feel they belong and can build their dreams,” she explained. “It’s about building communities that provide opportunities for growth, connection, and progress.”

SMDC formally opens the 3day trade show at MOA Music Hall on Friday, Nov. 22, with SMDC executives and partners: Gen. Bernard Yang of SPD NCR; Marking C. Que, SMDC SVP for Customer Support; Grace Evangeline M. Sta. Ana, SMDC EVP and head of Core Operations and Product Development (4th from left); Jessica Bianca T. Sy, VP and head of Design, Innovation and Strategy (6th from left) and Sen. Richard Gordon, Red Cross chairman and CEO.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Sy introduced Suzy, the official 20th-anniversary mascot. Suzy symbolizes the optimism and energy present in SMDC’s communities. “She represents connection, happiness, and living fully, which is what our communities are all about,” Sy added.

Sy also honored the legacy of her grandfather, Henry Sy Sr., and her father, Henry Sy Jr., for their shared advocacy of uplifting the lives of Filipinos. “For my father, building communities wasn’t just about constructing houses—it was about creating a world where every Filipino could live a fulfilling and sustainable life,” she said.

Sy concluded by recognizing the hard work of the entire SMDC team, noting that the company’s success over the years is a collective effort. “From designers to property managers, to our sellers and residents, you are the reason we are here today,” she said.

With its renewed commitment, SMDC continues to lead the way in developing inclusive, sustainable, and thriving communities across the Philippines, building The Good Life for generations to come.
