OMODA & JAECOO Announces Joint Global Sustainability Project with ​​International Union for Conservation of Nature

OMODA & JAECOO Unveils Global Sustainability Commitment and Key Brand Milestones at the 2024 OMODA & JAECOO International User Summit attended by Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations

Cementing their name as a global and new-energy personalized automotive brand, rising global car maker OMODA & JAECOO formally signed its joint global green industry project with the ​​International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) during the recently concluded 2024 OMODA & JAECOO International User Summit in Wuhu, China. Called Cherish Nature, the global cooperation project – conceptualized by parent company Chery Automobile and adapted by OMODA & JAECOO – aims to promote sustainable development concepts, and raise public awareness of environmental protection.

The International User Summit is an annual gathering of more than 2000 participants composed of dealers, suppliers, car users, and media from different parts of the world. Organized by OMODA & JAECOO in partnership with their parent company Chery Automobile, the user summit is held every October to exhibit the brand’s global achievements and plans in intelligent and sustainable development as well as the company’s performance for the year. The event was attended by Mr. Ban Ki-moon, the eighth Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Following the signing of the global joint project during the Green Charity Cycling Event at the same summit, OMODA & JAECOO is set to build a comprehensive and effective ecological system for environmentally friendly technologies with the support of its parent company’s robust R&D and manufacturing capabilities and strong industry chain integration. Specifically, OMODA & JAECOO’s parent company will invest $3.5 million to promote public welfare activities related to water resources, ocean conservation, and biodiversity, contributing to global environmental protection efforts.

In his keynote speech during the Green Charity Cycling Event, Mr. Ban Ki-moon emphasized the significance of the green cycling initiative in promoting sustainable development concepts and raising public awareness of environmental protection. Mr. Ban Ki-Moon additionally called for global collaboration to drive green transformation and achieve a low-carbon future.

2024 Key Milestones: Global Expansion and Sales Performance 

Poised to become the rising global automotive brand powerhouse, OMODA & JAECOO shared during the summit that it is now present in 32 markets – including the Philippines.

OMODA & JAECOO also boast its cumulative global sales surpassing 360,00 vehicles in April 2023 to October of 2024. OMODA & JAECOO’s sales performance contributed to the global sales of its parent company Chery Auto from January to October of  this year, reaching a historic high of 2.44 million vehicles, representing a remarkable year-on-year growth of 42%, and ranking first in growth among the top 20 automotive brands worldwide.

The brand is optimistic that its entry in the Philippine market will bolster its global expansion. This year alone, OMODA and JAECOO has brought 192 new car models and is set to open 7 dealerships in the country.
