In a major move to accelerate the digital evolution of the country’s business sector, Converge ICT Solutions Inc., through its Converge SME Solutions arm, and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially launched their joint MSME Digital Transformation Programs today at the DTI Filinvest Building in Makati City.
The launch, introduces a suite of programs designed to bridge the digital divide and ensure that no Filipino entrepreneur is left behind in the modern economy.
The event serves as a milestone implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between the Converge and DTI in November 2025. This partnership aims to strengthen the digital capabilities of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by providing them with affordable, business-grade connectivity and the essential digital tools needed to succeed locally and globally.
Empowering the Backbone of the Economy
During the launch, Dindo Marzan, SVP and Head of Converge SME Solutions, emphasized that MSMEs are not merely customers but essential drivers of economic growth, employment, and innovation. He explained that the programs are tailored to the unique realities of small businesses, which often have lean teams and limited IT resources.
Unlike residential plans or complex large-enterprise packages, Converge SME Solutions offers right-sized tools— such as Business Broadband and E-Commerce Connectivity Solutions— that are easy to deploy, cost-efficient, and scalable as a business grows.
Building Digital Resilience
A key focus of the initiative is fostering digital resilience, enabling MSMEs to remain operational and competitive despite market disruptions, supply chain issues, or cybersecurity risks.
“When businesses have the ability to sell online, communicate through multiple channels, and access their systems remotely, they are better positioned to adapt,” Marzan noted.
The program provides an ecosystem that includes cloud-based tools, cybersecurity support, and productivity platforms to help entrepreneurs manage operations with greater confidence.
Breaking Barriers to Entry
Angela Gutierrez, VP and Head of Marketing for Converge SME Solutions, addressed the common misconception that digital transformation is an expensive and intimidating endeavor.
“The reality is that the first step is often more affordable than many entrepreneurs expect,” she stated, highlighting that reliable connectivity is the foundation of this journey.
To make technology more relatable, Converge and DTI are collaborating on experiential activities, learning sessions, and workshops that meet entrepreneurs where they are, including those in provincial areas and traditional sectors. Through initiatives like the DTI AI and Scale Up Center, the partnership helps MSMEs leverage artificial intelligence to improve operations and create new revenue opportunities.

Gutierrez noted that competitiveness today is determined by how effectively a business leverages technology rather than its physical size. “Our goal is simple: to ensure that even the smallest negosyo in the Philippines has the digital capability to compete not only locally, but globally,” she added.
