Music, culture, and regional unity took center stage as thousands of visitors gathered at SM City Manila on July 18 for the successful launch of the SULONG SEAPop Music and Culture Caravan. Held as part of the Philippines’ hosting of ASEAN 2026 and in celebration of Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino (LMP), the event transformed the venue into a vibrant showcase of Southeast Asia’s shared heritage. Through performances, cultural experiences, and interactive activities, SULONG SEAPop offered the public a unique opportunity to discover the region’s diversity while celebrating the connections that bring its people together.
Building on the momentum of the highly successful ASEAN–Korea Music Festival, the caravan continued the celebration of cross-cultural exchange by gathering artists, cultural advocates, and communities from across Southeast Asia under one roof. Visitors immersed themselves in ASEAN lectures, indigenous music workshops, gastronomy demonstrations, cultural exhibitions, and interactive booths that highlighted the traditions and creativity of the region. More than entertainment, every activity was designed to encourage learning, appreciation, and meaningful cultural dialogue.
The celebration reached its peak with the free SEA Pop concert, where artists from the Philippines and neighboring Southeast Asian countries delivered dynamic performances that reflected the richness of the region’s contemporary music scene. Audiences also enjoyed the SEAPop Talent Competition alongside special appearances from Thai personalities, adding excitement to an already packed program. Together, these performances showcased the power of music to transcend borders and create shared experiences among diverse audiences.
Another key highlight of the event was the official launch of the ASEAN Passport Stamp Rally, an initiative encouraging the public to take part in ASEAN 2026 activities throughout the year. Attendees received their ASEAN Passports and collected their first commemorative stamps, marking the beginning of a journey that rewards participation in future cultural events across the country. The initiative reinforces ASEAN 2026’s vision of making cultural engagement both interactive and accessible while inspiring Filipinos to explore the region’s rich heritage.
More than a one-day festival, SULONG SEAPop served as a platform for strengthening regional ties through music, culture, and shared experiences.
