25th Pre-Need Consciousness Week Reinforces Preparedness for Filipino Families
The Philippine Federation of Memorial, Pension, and Education Plan Companies, Inc. (PFPMEP) successfully concluded the 25th Pre-Need Consciousness Week from February 2–6, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the pre-need industry in the Philippines. This year’s celebration carried the theme “Pre-Need: Serbisyong May Pusong Mapaglingkod,” highlighting the industry’s enduring commitment to service, compassion, and financial preparedness.
The week-long observance brought together pre-need companies nationwide in collaboration with the Insurance Commission, reinforcing a shared mission: to raise greater awareness about the value of planning ahead and the peace of mind that pre-need plans provide to Filipino families.

A Week of Reflection, Service, and Solidarity
The celebration opened with a Thanksgiving Mass on February 2 in Greenbelt, Makati City, followed by an outreach program at A Better Chance Foundation along Balete Drive in Quezon City on February 3, extending the spirit of “pusong mapaglingkod” beyond boardrooms and offices. Camaraderie took center stage on February 4 during a bowling tournament held in Greenhills, San Juan — a meaningful reminder that cooperation within the industry strengthens its ability to serve the public.
The celebration culminated on February 6 with a Lunch Forum at EDSA Shangri-La. The event gathered key leaders and representatives from member companies, including Ms. Wenian Fuentes, Assistant Vice President of Cocoplans, Inc.; Mr. Rene Roy, Chairman of Trusteeship Plans, Inc.; Atty. Reynaldo Averilla Regalado, Insurance Commissioner; Mr. Bong Guingon, Executive Vice President & CIO of St. Peter Life Plans, Inc.; Mr. Jaime Dizon, President & CEO of Philplans First, Inc.; and other officers and stakeholders across the federation. Bowling champions were also recognized during the forum, celebrating teamwork and excellence within the federation.

Why Pre-Need Matters More Than Ever
At its core, Pre-Need Consciousness Week serves as a reminder of a simple but powerful truth: preparation is an act of care.
Pre-need plans — whether for memorial, education, or pension purposes — allow individuals and families to secure essential services in advance, protecting loved ones from emotional and financial strain during life’s most vulnerable moments. In a time when many Filipinos are becoming more financially aware and proactive, pre-need planning represents foresight, responsibility, and compassion.
As Insurance Commissioner Atty. Reynaldo Averilla Regalado’s presence at the forum underscored, the collaboration between regulators and industry players remains vital in ensuring that the public continues to receive reliable, regulated, and responsible services.
A Shared Commitment to Filipino Families
As the 25th Pre-Need Consciousness Week concludes, the message remains clear: preparedness is a service rooted in empathy. Through unity among member companies and continued collaboration with the Insurance Commission, the federation reaffirms its commitment to educating the public and strengthening trust in the pre-need industry.
More than a milestone celebration, the week stood as a call to action — encouraging Filipinos to view pre-need planning not merely as a financial decision, but as a meaningful step toward safeguarding their families’ future.
