PBBM Leads Chinatown Revitalization Phase II with Visit to Chinatown Museum at Lucky Chinatown for 50 Years of PH–China Relations

Last February 13, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (PBBM) led the launch of Chinatown Revitalization Phase II: A Walk Through Heritage in Binondo, coinciding with the celebration of Chinese New Year and the 50th anniversary of Philippines–China diplomatic relations.

As part of his visit, the President toured Lucky Chinatown, reaffirming its role as a key destination in the district’s cultural and economic renewal. The revitalization initiative enhances heritage landmarks along Ongpin and Escolta Streets through architectural lighting and projection mapping, strengthening Binondo’s identity as a vibrant hub for tourism, enterprise, and tradition.

PBBM is shown around the immersive galleries of the Chinatown Museum at Lucky Chinatown, exploring exhibits that highlight the rich history and enduring contributions of the Filipino-Chinese community.

A highlight of the visit was the President’s stop at the Chinatown Museum at the Imperial Wing, Level 4. The museum’s immersive galleries showcase the rich history and enduring contributions of the Filipino-Chinese community — underscoring the importance of preserving heritage while ushering in a new era of growth and prosperity.

In celebration of Chinese New Year, PBBM explores exhibits that honor the rich heritage and enduring legacy of the Filipino-Chinese community in Binondo.
