The Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) and GT Foundation continue to champion financial literacy among the youth through the #EarlyGIFTChallenge, an initiative that helps students, scholars, and volunteers build better financial habits early in life.
In partnership with the I am MAD (Making A Difference) volunteer network and various schools such as Manila Tytana Colleges and STI Colleges, Metrobank introduced young participants to the GIFT model—Goal-setting, Investing bonuses or allowances, Following a budget, and Taking advantage of deals. These simple yet practical lessons encourage the youth to save with intention and spend mindfully.
Members of the media also joined the roadshow to experience the challenge firsthand, underscoring how early financial planning can lead to more empowered decisions—whether for individuals, families, or communities.
By nurturing the next generation’s financial awareness, Metrobank and GT Foundation aim to cultivate a culture of mindfulness, discipline, and empowerment—values that will serve young Filipinos well throughout their lives.
