A shared belief in service and compassion brought together PlayTime, the country’s most innovative online entertainment platforms, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in an initiative that delivered more than just meals—it delivered dignity, hope, and human connection.
Through the activation of the “Walang Gutom Kitchen”, over 300 vulnerable individuals were served freshly prepared meals in a community shelter, with support from PlayTime and its corporate social responsibility arm, PlayTime CARES. The collaboration reflects a meaningful alignment of values between public service and private initiative.

Krizia Cortez, PlayTime’s Director of Public Relations delivers a short message to the 2025 Binibining Pilipinas candidates as they volunteer for the day at the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Walang Gutom Kitchen.
“This collaboration was born out of a shared desire to uplift others,” said Krizia Cortez, Director of Public Relations at PlayTime. “Through PlayTime CARES, we continue to seek opportunities where our resources and reach can meaningfully support national development goals, and revolutionize how private entities engage with public service. This collaboration is proof that when purpose-driven organizations come together, the results can be immediate and deeply impactful.”
Led by DSWD, the Walang Gutom Kitchen is part of a broader government effort to reduce food insecurity through direct and compassionate intervention. For private sector players such as PlayTime, it is crucial to align its social responsibility efforts to national thrusts – bringing important conversations and issues to a bigger audience and farther reach. In one of its key activations under its Binibining Pilipinas sponsorship, PlayTime designated a charity day where all candidates participated in community engagement efforts. This provided a unique opportunity to spotlight the Walang Gutom Program and further amplify its visibility—ensuring that the message of food security and public service resonated through the voice, platform, and presence of every Binibini involved.
Although the collaboration was centered on a single event, it underscored the potential for future alignment. Both DSWD and PlayTime recognize the value of cross-sector engagement and continue to explore ways to expand impact—whether through mobile kitchens, community outreach, or scalable advocacy campaigns.
“Partnerships for good begin with a shared commitment to serve,” added Cortez. “Our goal through PlayTime CARES has always been to build bridges—between business and government, public service and private action, entertainment and impact. We’re proud to have stood alongside DSWD in this initiative, and we look forward to more opportunities to work together in advancing inclusive, people-centered progress.”
This collaboration stands as a model for how companies and institutions can co-create solutions that are both compassionate and systemic. In a country where hunger remains one of the most pressing challenges, PlayTime and DSWD are showing that responsible leadership means showing up—not just with intent, but with structure, scale, and shared accountability.
