Sen. Mark Villar promotes digital banking

SENATE Committee on Banks, Financial Institutions and Currencies chairman Sen. Mark Villar was a guest speaker during the Chamber of Thrift Bank’s annual convention held recently at the Dusit Thani Manila in Makati City.

This year’s convention carried the theme “Thrift Banks 2023: Taking the Lead to Economic Recovery through Digitalization” as the CTB aligns with the drive of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) for technological progress and digital transformation in the banking industry.

Sen. Villar presented his committee’s legislative initiatives to encourage digital banking while minimizing digital scams and frauds, particularly the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act.
